Your conversations
When you export or copy a conversation, ChatSnapAI reads the chat content from the page you're viewing, builds your chosen file format entirely on your device, and saves it to your downloads folder (or your clipboard). Your conversation content is never transmitted to ChatSnapAI, and we have no server capable of receiving it.
One feature deserves a specific note: on ChatGPT, the optional "API fetch" button retrieves your conversation directly from ChatGPT's own service, using your own existing login session — the same way the ChatGPT page itself loads your chat. That request goes only to ChatGPT. Nothing about it involves ChatSnapAI servers.
What the extension stores on your device
Your preferences (export settings, theme, filename format) and your recent export history are stored locally in your browser's extension storage, on your device only. Uninstalling the extension deletes them. We can't see them — they never sync to us.
License keys (Pro)
When ChatSnapAI Pro is available, activating it will involve exactly one kind of request to us: a license check that sends your license key — a short code like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX — to confirm it's valid. That request contains your license key and nothing else. No conversation content, no browsing history, no page data. Ever.
This website
chatsnapai.com is a static site hosted on Netlify. It sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Your light/dark theme choice is stored in your own browser and never sent anywhere. Like virtually all web hosts, Netlify keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) to operate and secure the service — see Netlify's privacy policy.
What we don't do
We don't collect analytics on your conversations. We don't sell data — we have none to sell. We don't show ads. We don't require an account. The free tier is not paid for with your data; it's paid for by people who upgrade to Pro.
Don't take our word for it
Open your browser's network monitor (F12 → Network) while exporting a conversation and watch what's sent: nothing. Here's the 30-second walkthrough.
