Is ChatSnapAI really private? How would I know?
Yes — and you don't have to trust us, because you can check. Exports are built entirely in your browser and saved to your downloads folder; there is no ChatSnapAI server in the path of your conversations. Open your browser's network monitor while exporting and you'll see zero requests. Here's the 30-second walkthrough. For full transparency: Pro's once-a-day license check is the one request the extension ever makes — it contains only your license key, never any conversation content, and it never runs during an export.
Why are there no daily export limits, when other exporters cap you?
Exporters that meter you to "3 PDFs a day" do it because their servers generate every export, and servers cost money per use. ChatSnapAI generates everything on your device — there's no per-export cost to us, so there's nothing to meter. Unlimited exports on both tiers, forever.
What's included free, and what's in Pro?
Free includes TXT and Markdown exports, clipboard copy, message filters and ranges, the conversation stats panel, and all 8 platforms — with no caps. Pro adds the document formats (PDF in four themes, Word, HTML, EPUB, PNG), JSON and CSV, code block extraction, export settings, and export history. Full comparison here.
Which AI platforms does it work with?
ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot, DeepSeek, Grok, and Poe. Firefox and Edge versions of the extension are planned after launch; for now it runs on Chrome and Chromium-based browsers.
Do I need an account?
No. There's nothing to sign up for, no login, and no email required. Pro is activated with a license key you enter once — that's the whole system.
How many devices can I use a Pro license on?
Two. Enter your key on your desktop and your laptop, for example. Need it on a new machine? Deactivate an old one and move it.
Can I cancel? Can I get a refund?
You can cancel anytime and keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. And if Pro isn't working out within the first 3 days of a purchase, email support@chatsnapai.com and we'll refund it.
What happens when an AI platform changes its website?
Occasionally a platform update temporarily breaks an exporter — every exporter, not just ours. We run automated nightly checks against each platform so we usually know about breaking changes before users notice, and fixes ship fast. If something looks wrong, it's probably this; check back shortly or email us.
What is the "API fetch" button on ChatGPT?
An optional way to load long ChatGPT conversations reliably: it retrieves the conversation from ChatGPT's own service using your existing login session — the same way the ChatGPT page itself loads your chat. That request goes only to ChatGPT. Nothing involves ChatSnapAI servers.
How is the free tier paid for? Ads? My data?
Neither. No ads, no data collection — there's nothing to collect, since your conversations never leave your browser. The free tier is paid for by people who upgrade to Pro. Privacy is never the upsell.
How is ChatSnapAI different from other chat exporters?
Architecture. Several popular exporters process your conversations on their servers — their privacy policies say so. In late 2025, multiple Chrome extensions were caught harvesting AI conversations at scale.
